Dr James Mountford
Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Leader
Dr James Mountford is Director of Quality at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He worked initially as an NHS doctor, then in consulting. From 2005-2007, he was a Commonwealth Fund Health Foundation Harkness Fellow based in Massachusetts General Hospital, and at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), both in Boston, USA. Before moving to the Royal Free, he was Director of Quality at UCL Partners, an academic health sciences partnership serving a population of 3 million in and around London. He sits on the board of AQuA, the improvement partnership based in north-west England. In March 2020 he was seconded to work as the Chief of Quality and Learning at the NHS Nightingale Hospital London, opened in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Professor John McMillan

Professor John McMillan is a professor for the Bioethics Centre at the University of Otago. He is a member of the Advisory Committee for Assisted Reproductive Technology and the National Screening Advisory Committee, and has published broadly within bioethics.
Dr Lucy Frith
Associate Editor of the Journal of Medical Ethics
Dr Lucy Frith is currently a reader in Bioethics and Social Science the Faculty of Health and Life Science at the University of Liverpool. Her research focuses on the social and ethical aspects of health-care decision-making, policy and regulation, with a particular interest in empirical ethics and socio-legal approaches.

Dr James Cave has been a GP for over 25 years. He currently works for Red Whale, providing courses for GP’s that take the latest research and demonstrate how it might be used in practice. James was awarded an OBE for services to medicine in 2009.
Dr Declan Walsh
Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care
A pioneer in palliative medicine, Dr Declan Walsh is an internationally renowned physician, researcher, educator and administrator. He developed the first palliative care programme in the United States. In recognition of his achievements, he received the John Mendelsohn Award from MD Anderson Cancer Centre, a lifetime achievement award from the Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer and a Visionary Award from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Professor Juan Víctor Ariel Franco
Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine
Professor Juan Franco is a family doctor at the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Vice-chair of the Research Department at the Instituto Universitario Hispital Italiano (IUHI), where he is also Director of the Cochrane Associate Centre. He is a professor at IUHI and Universidad Nacional de La Matanza, and editor for the Cochrane Urology Group and a member of Cochrane’s Governing Board.
