Andrew Davies is the Professor of Palliative Medicine at Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, and Our Lady’s Hospice (OLH) in Dublin. He is also a Consultant in Palliative Medicine at OLH, and an honorary Consultant in Palliative Medicine at St. James’ Hospital and St. Vincent’s University Hospital. His previous academic appointments were at the University of Bristol, Imperial College London, and the University of Surrey. He held clinical consultant positions at Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre, the Royal Marsden Hospital, and the Royal Surrey County Hospital / St. Luke’s Cancer Centre, and was a NHS consultant for 20 years, before moving to Ireland. He is Past President of Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC), and the Association for Palliative Medicine of Great Britain and Ireland (APM).
